Keep the Faith

Hi Everyone!!  I was able to make some time to play in my stamp room and have a couple of cards to share from weekend Challenges over on SCS.  One features this month's ODBD Release Stamp - Sheltering Angel, and the other features the new Custom Angel Wings die.

This first one is my favorite of the two - celebrating today's Featured Stamper on SCS (links and details are further down in the post).  To make this one I started by inking up the inside of an embossing folder - using Coastal Cabana and Tempting Turquoise.  Next I die cut and assembled the Lilly flowers and Wing/tag elements, stippled the flower, then adhered/popped everything onto the card base.

This first photo shows the detailing on the Angel Wings and Tag - with the little key and cross paper charms.

Here are a couple more pictures showing the front and side views:

This is the first time I've used these SB Lilly dies - and oh my goodness are they FUN and EASY!! Once they were assembled I stippled some color and added a little glitter!!

My next project is for yesterday's Inspiration Challenge also on SCS.  I am such a fan of David Bromstad's work when I saw his art featured on this website I couldn't help myself!!  And honestly there was no help for me in trying to re-create his beautiful design - but hey, I tried anyway LOL!!!

To make this card I cut a square piece of card stock, then using an SB Peony Flower die as a guide I started sponging greens and grays in a sort-of floral pattern.  I kept shifting the die in order to get the artsy/imperfect look similar to the flower in the painting.

The Flower Within CASE

Once that was done I randomly stamped the Sheltering Angel Irish Blessing.  Next I added some definition using copics and glitter to 'glitz' it up a bit.  There's a bit of green glitter on the flower center, Black glitter on the right edge and top corner, and little bits of clear glitter in different areas around.  Lastly I added crystal effects to make the white/gray areas more interesting.

ODBD's May Release Celebration!!

Welcome to ODBD's May Release - Thank you for stopping by.  This month presents lots of wonderful new stamps and dies, and amazing papers too.   My sister designers have really out-done themselves with beautiful creations for all of us - and as always I'm in awe of their talents!!

My first project features the new Angel Wings Die, Sheltering Angel Stamp, and the beautiful Rustic Beauty Collection papers, along with items from previous releases - all detailed further down in my post.

To make the first card I stamped and die-cut the sentiment panel and wings, die-cut the fancy foliage, layered flowers and leaves, and then worked on the arrangement.  I chose an alternate orientation on my Angel Wings and then noticed after-the-fact that they might be sideways... Maybe this was meant to show how versatile they are :)!!!

An Irish Blessing with Flowers

I love playing with the layout and placement on my cards - After all the elements are created.  I enjoy moving things around on the card front until it sort-of speaks to me.  I rarely glue anything down until I've explored all my options.  And once everything is stacked/popped and glued I love adding those final perfect little touches - in this case those were the tiny rhinestones and dabs of glitter :)!!

An Irish Prayer

My next project uses the same Sheltering Angel stamp, Angel Wings Die and the wonderful new papers too - and I love how unique this one looks.  Again it has the same 'sideways' Angel Wings - because at the time I thought they were right-side-up LOL!!

Angel Wings on Wood

To make this card I started with the wood slat paper, stamped the sentiment in Craft Black ink and then clear-embossed over it.  Next I die-cut the Angel Wings, Fancy Foliage and tiny flowers and started assembling.  The paper is adhered onto over-sized brown card stock, leaving enough space on the bottom for some gold liquid pearls detailing.

I especially love the rustic look combined with the beautiful angel wings - it's just a bit unexpected :).
