It's Time for ODBD's New October Release!!

Hi everyone!!  It's time for ODBD's new Release Hop.  Fall is one of my favorite times of year - the change in the weather, the Autumn smells that take me back to fun childhood memories, the turning leaves and even shorter days (well, that's debatable LOL) - And then winter brings us the Holidays, family visits and all the goodness of that season.  Who doesn't Love this time of year!!

So this month's new collection from ODBD is all the more beautiful to me!!  If you have time and would like to see all the stamps and dies, and enjoy what the other Designer's have created please see the links below - and don't forget about the prizes!!

My first card features a fun acorn-eating squirrel in the new Thankful Song set.  Hubby and I have five 30+ year old Oak Trees on our property, and my goodness are there a lot of Acorns this year!! Lots of squirrels too - I love watching them playfully chasing each other up/down and all around our trees.  Too cute!

The squirrel image is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar, then outlined with a darker colored marker then colored using Prismacolor Pencils.  The leaves and acorn were stamped a second time, colored, and popped to add dimension and balance.

Thankful Song / Thankful Squirrel :)

Here's a different angle.  The sentiment was stamped, cutout and popped, and the leafy elements at the bottom are die cut Branches form an ODBD Custom Die and CLD Dies.  The acorns and squirrel's eye were coated/dotted in Glaze-on Matte finish.

I usually coordinate my cards when posting more than one, but this month that is not the case!! My next card is from this same Fall set but has a definite Christmas flair to it.  I couldn't resist!

This card spoke to me - it came together so quickly and with very little thought process.  That's when I know it's right - love when this happens.  I started with textured Bazzil paper and one of my favorite new ODBD Custom Corner Dies, which you can see in the background here.  I stamped, sponged and die-cut the sentiment tag, die-cut the background layer and sponged the card base.  At that point I added the gold border and assembled everything.

May we fill our hearts with Praise

After the tag was ready I punched a small whole at the top and weaved the gold twine through the tag and the ribbon to secure everything in place.  Then I added the beautiful paper rose, cut and sponged the leaves from an ODBD Custom Leaf Die, added some punched/sponged pine sprigs and glued/popped everything together.
