God Bless America!!

Hello Stampers and Friends - I am glad you stopped by!!  The past couple of months have been challenging, with home improvements and added work responsibilities - seems I'm left with little time to stamp.  Thankfully I have managed to find some here and there.  Today's card is for this weeks ODBD SLC #160 - in celebration of Red, White and Blue.  My card is a simple one.

God Bless America!!!!!!!

Simple - yet so fun to color!!  I love this stamp because there's so much movement in it.  I can almost hear the sound of the wind!!  I used Copic markers and Atyou Spica Glitter Pens.  The glitter pends add so much depth in the color, and although you cannot see it at all in the photo, there is some subtle sparkle in the folds and creases.  I also used white Gel Pen to make the stars pop.

This is my last card as a Challenge Team member for ODBD - in July I'm moving to the Alumni Team!!  I love that I'll still be designing for this amazing company.  Kelley, Rick and the team, along with the other designers, are a truly special group - and they've been a blessing to me in more ways than they can possibly know.  I'm looking forward to joining the Alumni, and will be designing for each month's New Release Hops - so hopefully I'll see you all there :)!!

If you have time I hope you can stop over and check out all the beautiful cards my DT Sisters have created for you:

Precious Girl ODBD Sketch

Good morning friends and stampers!!  Hope all is well.  And I hope you're enjoying some dry sunny days wherever you are - we're having a wet season and I'd love it if you could send some of your nice weather to us here in Virginia LOL :)!!!

My card today is for Tuesday's ODBD Shining Light Challenge #159 - it's a Sketch Challenge!!  This sketch worked perfectly with my sweet Precious Girl stamp released earlier this month.

To make this card I stamped and die-cut the little girl focal image - TWICE.  Then I delicately fussy-cut the precious girl image, added a bit of dimension using an embossing stylus to "round" the card stock a bit.  This gives here a sort-of "puffed" look.  I adhered the image using two thin foam tape strips in the center, and liquid glue around the edges.

Father in Heaven, hear my Prayer

It's hard to see in the main photo, but in real life the image looks 'puffed' out in the middle, but not around the edges.  It's kinda cool!!  Here's another angle that may show it better:

Precious Girl Alt View

Then again maybe not LOL!!  Anyway I used Becca's bow maker for the little double-bow, and three different designer papers for the card layers.  The card base is white card stock.

Waves on the Sea Father's Day

Hi everyone - hope all is well!!  Hope you're enjoying your week.  Thank you for stopping by - today I have a new ODBD Shining Light Challenge card to share - this week it's all about the masculine.  My card is a Father's Day card, for a very special Uncle.

To make this card I started with the background - using Crumb Cake ink I stamped the ODBD's God Bless America stamp.  This particular stamp is oriented horizontally and has a border, so I had to stamp it twice - once right-side up (you can see some of the stars of the Flag in the top left corner), and then once upside down, careful not to get any of the stars.  This may sound complicated but it really was simple - and the flag lines came together perfectly!!

Happy Father's Day in America!!

Next I embossed that layer, had a little mishap and embossed it backwards, took a look and then decided I liked it that way!!  (The diamond pattern should be embossed outward, but on this card it's inward).

Then for the main image panel I used the same Crumb Cake ink, only after the image was stamped I went back over it using a sepia colored Copic Fine Line and three Sketch markers, to accentuate and add some depth to certain areas.  Then I used a white gel pen to smooth some of the lines and bring in some highlights.

Happy Father's Day to Uncle Bob

This image is so beautiful and so peaceful that it deserves all the attention - so I kept this card very clean and simple.  The last step here was to pop the layers and add a simple sentiment banner.  There is something about the sea that centers and calms me, and this image seems to do that for me - I hope you can feel it too :).

Here are the full stamp set images that were used on this card:

Now, for my project I used the Precious Girl stampset.  I stamped this sweet image on white card stock, colored it using Copics, stamped the sentiment and then scored a frame around everything.

Precious Girl
My cards are usually more detailed but I knew from the moment I saw this stamp that I wanted to keep this one CAS.  There is more white space than usual for me, but that's exactly what I was after here.
