Sent from Heaven - ODBD SLC #139

Good Morning - Happy Tuesday Everyone!!  Hope you enjoyed the weekend.  Today I have a new ODBD SLC Challenge card to share with you.  This week is all about children - how sweet is that!!  The ODBDSLC #139 Challenge is:  To make a card for a child.

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize - a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!!  Entries for the prize must be submitted by Sunday, January 27th at 8 p.m. EST.  One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday.

You do not have to use ODBD Stamps to join in, but we'd love to see them if you have them.  And as a way of recognizing those who use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will feature the top  three participants  for the  Shining the Light Award!!  In order to qualify for this award you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by Sunday,  January 27th at 8 p.m. EST.   More details can be found here:  ODBDSLC #139

Little Girls are Sent from Heaven Alt Veiw

It was such a great feeling to bring out the Pinks for this challenge!!  I also used my new ODBD Little Girls stamp set, along with ODBD's Elegant Oval Stamp and the coordinating Elegant Oval Dies.  First I stamped and die-cut the main image panel, then sponged a bit of color around the border while the die was still in place.   I stamped the Elegant Oval and die-cut that panel and colored inside the border using a Copic marker.

The next step was to die-cut the two Marvelous Squares.  I sponged the pink layer with a bit more pink for added color and dimension, and then started working on the fun Ribbon/Bow arrangement.  Below is a close-up so you can see all the fun details:

Sent from Heaven Close-up

After the large bow was ready I started on the sentiment banners and flowers.  First I stamped the sentiment from the Little Girls set, cut the banner tails, then punched a small whole at the top of each.  The banners and heart charm were threaded with white bakers twine and tied with a little bow around the pink ribbon.   After that was assembled but before anything was glued, I added the flourish and flowers.   The flowers are made using punches, embossing styluses and a dot of Liquid Pearls.  Once everything was arranged just right, I glued it in place.  There is a bit of movement with the banners which I noticed when taking the photos, but it is still very much intact.

The last step was to add the flourish and flowers on the right side and finish with the inside panels.  Below is the front-view showing all the fun elements on this Little Girl card :)!!

Little Girls are Sent from Heaven

As my nieces and nephews have grown older I find that I'm making less sweet little girl and boy cards - so this was especially fun for me.   I hope you liked seeing this one as much as I liked making it, and I hope you enjoyed your visit today!!

I had a brown school uniform which put me off it for a long time, but I always think that it looks fabulous with pink. All those layers are just fabulous - and so is the ribbon with the little charm and flower. This is one sweet card!

Hi, Audrey! A marvelous card design. Love the use of brown tones rather than the traditional black in your sweet silhouette. The image, colors and layers are all beautiful, but I especially like the bow with the tags and charm - it's a wonderful idea. I've pinned this card to be reinspired at a later date. hugs, xx more hugs
