ODBD SLC137: Something New & Something Old

Good Morning Everyone!

I have wonderful news to share!!  This is my first post as one of the newest members of Our Daily Bread Designs' Challenge Team.  I am thrilled and honored for this opportunity - to create for a wonderful company - and to learn from, get to know and be inspired by so many amazing and creative stampers.  I will be creating new cards each week for the ODBD Shining Light Challenges - come and join us if you can!  Thank you everyone - and thank you ODBD!

This week's ODBDSLC #137 is:  To use something new and something old

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize - a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!!  Entries for the prize must be submitted by Sunday, January 13th at 8 p.m. EST.  One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday.

You do not have to use ODBD Stamps to join in, but we'd love to see them if you have them.  And as a way of recognizing those who use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will feature the top  three participants  for the  Shining the Light Award!!  In order to qualify for this award you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by Sunday,  January 13th at 8 p.m. EST.   More details can be found here:  ODBDSLC #137

Watering Can Stamp & Die, All Occasion Sentiment
ODBDSLC #137 - Something old and Something New

The challenge is to use something New (ODBD Stamps and die), and something Old (Gem Flourish, Pine Punch, Spellbinders Dies and Embossing Folder).  The wonderful sentiment is the newest - from our January release!!

Front View

To make this card I first stamped and colored the Watering Can using Copic Markers.  I was in my glory coloring this - and I was able to practice using my warm and cool gray tones to create shadow and depth in the image.  I took my time and enjoyed every moment!!

Watering Can Close-up

Then I stamped and die-cut the sentiment label and sponged color with the die still in place, die-cut the watering can and the Spellbinders panels, embossed the top panel and then worked on the placement.

All Occasion Sentiment - Close-up

The photo above shows the birthday sentiment up close - this set has so many versatile sentiments, and they coordinate with some new ODBD dies as well (which I'll be showing you in other projects very soon)!

Below are the ODBD stamps and die that were used on this project - Watering Can Stamp, coordinating Watering Can Die, and All Occasion Sentiment:
